Institution

The Guardian was founded by John Edward Taylor in 1821. It is a broadsheet newspaper, which was the first to be fully coloured. It was also known world wide and became really famous as the years progressed. The newspaper started to deliver various stories to the audience and the audience used these newspapers as tv was not accessible for everyone so at that specific time frame the idea of having a paper that gives you all the information you need was pretty awesome.

The BBC is a public service broadcaster. The BBC's remit is to inform, educate and entertain, which the Rethian values; the values that John Reith, the founder of the BBC, wanted to achieve. Now BBC is dominating the British entertainment/news as it has many categories such as radio and TV.

Twitter has now become one of the most popular social networking sites in the world Jack Dorsey founded Twitter in 2006. Twitter uses User Generated Content (UGC) to convey it's message as it is a public site. Twitter is ranked one of the 10 most visited social media platforms, however the number of users was overtaken by Instagram. There are also some issues associated with Twitter as it is quite controversial due to the availability for people to give their opinions.

News Corp. was founded in Australia by Rupert Murdoch and is split into two subsidiaries; News Corporation and 21st Century Fox because Murdoch wanted to focus on both the media and publishing. The synergy involved in Disney is so varied; from merchandise to radio. Disney itself is so broad as it has Walt Disney Pictures, Disney Land, Disney Live, Disney Store, Disney Channel, Disney Comics and many more outside the Disney brand, such as Marvel and ABC.

The ITV was founded in 1955 and is the biggest commercially founded programme, controlled by Ofcom. It is a commercial broadcaster which has synergy, from ITV2/3, ITV player, weather, news ect. ITV is not owned or operated by just one company but instead many licensees. Vivendi is known for delivering entertainment that really engages the audience is a French multinational mass media company, primarily focused on digital entertainment. It owns Canal+ Group, which is a pay- TV channel and movie producer in France. The water company Compagnie Générale des Eaux, branched out into transport, construction, property and more; in the 1990s, they expanded into mass media. Advert Analysis

The Denotation is 50 cent is visible on one side of the advert and the other side has unknown fingerprints. The Connotation is This advert could show his history or his hardship life The artist on the left hand side is known as "50 cent" one of the worlds well known rappers.
The lighting used is low key lighting and under lighting to make him look even more powerful. The light has an effect on his eyes making them less visible to the audience as maybe the advert is trying to represent his dark side as well as his good side. Also the low key lighting makes his scars more visible to the audience showing aggression and toughness which makes him seem unbreakable.really cleverly done as its really dim an focuses on the outline of his face making him look superior and powerful.
The idea of having fingerprints could have oppositional readings e.g the elderly people might not support the idea of this advert as they might have some stereotypical views e.g they might think that this advert promotes anti social behaviour.
The advert has a dark setting this is because it really highlights 50 cents life as he's been through a lot of tragic moments.
The colours used are categorised as urban colours as the poster is desaturated to black and white which are basic colours but also gives it that old look it could perhaps show how long 50 cent has been in the music industry.
The Type of shot used is a close up
Pose: The main protagonist is facing the audience directly looking towards you.
The framing consists of two images onto one image which is also known as a composition creating more of a narrative and compact better appeal to the audience as it makes them view 50 cent in different ways.
The subject of matter is 50 cent & Reebok.

The denotation is Eminem is situated right at the middle of the advert and there is white typography.
The connotation is the advert could show his dark side as his face is covered up.
This advert is advertising hip hop music by the Rolling Stone brand. This is a really powerful advert as Eminem is the protagonist and he is one of the best rappers in the world.
The lighting used is low key lighting as you cant see his eyes which creates that powerful effect as his identity in this pic is unknown but the exception of the typography it makes him look aggressive. The lighting is used cleverly as his hoodie acts like a light shade blocking out his eyes which again makes it seem more realistic. the thing that makes him more recognised by the audience is his nose and mouth as they can clearly tell its him as he has been wearing a hoodie in many of his music videos.
The advert has a dark setting because it really highlights Eminem's life as he has been through a lot of tragic moments more scarcer than you can imagine.
The colours used are mainly dark colours but his face really stands out as everything else is clack and white except his face.
The type of shot used is a close up.
Eminem's pose is positioned with his body facing the right hand side but with his head turning clockwise to the camera.
The framing is kept really simple the image is positioned portrait. The composition has a lot of meanings as the image is really compacted but could express different emotions.
The subject of matter is Eminem and socialite life.
